FITZHARDINGE
as Fremantle Mayor
Positive. Progressive. Practical
What We’ve Achieved Together
There’s great work underway, but there’s so much more to do. Vote for Hannah Fitzhardinge, your Fremantle Mayor, in this council election, and let’s finish what we started.
Future Priorities
-
A City for everyone
We’ve planned—now it’s time to deliver. More CBD housing means stronger retail, safer streets, less sprawl, and options for young people and downsizers.
Council is updating the Planning Scheme, pushing key developments, and backing not-for-profits to tackle the housing crisis. Densifying our city centre is vital to keep Fremantle’s diverse, creative community alive.
-
More investment in Fremantle
A key role of the Mayor is advocating for investment—working with all levels of government, stakeholders, and the private sector to secure funding for major projects, infrastructure, and events.
With masterplans for Fremantle Oval and Hilton Park, we’re in active funding talks and optimistic about progress. We’re also planning to revitalise underused heritage sites like the Roundhouse precinct, Station Forecourt, and Pioneer Park, in close partnership with the State Government.
-
Bursting with Creativity
The City has long supported new Performing Arts infrastructure, investing in venues like Fremantle Town Hall and Victoria Hall, with more upgrades planned. Years of advocacy have led to a new flexible performance space at B Shed, with ongoing input to ensure it serves local arts and events.
Live music is central to Fremantle’s identity—we’re working with stakeholders to create policies and funding that let it thrive alongside residential and hotel uses, keeping the city vibrant.
-
Safer Streets
While long-term housing is the solution to homelessness, the City is pursuing immediate action with a feasibility study for new crisis accommodation, to be presented to the State Government soon.
We’ve brought attention to illegal tobacco and vape sales, and now need coordinated action—tougher enforcement, new laws, and possible planning changes to limit new stores. We’re also collecting data on vacant shops to support potential financial or legislative penalties.
Inclusive, experienced leadership that brings our community together.
